Andrew Schwaab is an intellectual property lawyer with over 20 years of experience and focuses on strategic intellectual property matters, including counseling, global patent prosecution, patent litigation, licensing, validity and infringement analyses/opinions, due diligence and freedom-to-operate issues.

He has experience in a wide range of electrical and computer technologies, including semiconductor fabrication equipment and processes, computer systems, software, optical networks and components, liquid crystal displays and switching elements, energy collection and conversion, satellite navigation and global positioning systems, semiconductor devices, semiconductor nanofabrication and other nanotechnologies, as well as internet enabled/related applications. 

Andrew has practiced in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley since 1999. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Electro-Physics), he worked with an IP law firm for several years in Washington, DC, first as a professional IP/patent searcher, and then as a patent prosecution specialist, earning his registration as a US Patent Agent in 1994. While in law school, he served as a founding member of the University of San Diego School of Law's Science & Technology Law Society. 

Andrew is a Past President of the San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association and currently the Treasurer of the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Law Association.  He is Secretary of the U.S. Patent Bar/SIPO (Chinese Patent & Trademark Office) Liaison Council and involved in a number of other professional organizations, such as IEEE.
